"Simien Mountains National Park and recommendation for a great guide Endalk We have just returned from a 3 week holiday in Ethiopia. Without a doubt one of the highlights was a 3 day walk we took in the Simien Mountains. The scenery was spectacular and beyond our expectations. No wonder it is in many lists of the top walks in the world. We had a guide, cook, assistant cook and scout which felt very luxurious camping. Afternoon tea would be waiting for us at the end of the day, our tent set up and the cook preparing a fantastic dinner for us. We particularly want to recommend our guide Endalk. He was born in a village in the mountains and his grandfather was pivotal in establishing the park. He therefore knew so much about the plant and animal life and also knew many of the villagers along the way. He, in general, is passionate about the Simien Mountains National Park.
